Countdown to black belt
This statue is from Kristen Visbal - created to “honor the power of women's leadership”. it truly speaks to me - but in a different sense....using it to my situation..it's very powerful.. and I will carry this visual (yes the picture) with me on Saturday. To me, the bull is my fears... I'm going to stand up to it and I'm not moving!! My little girl inside, just kicked the shit out of my "older me"...said "move over Biotch... and let me through!"
3 weeks prior to my test Physio for my knees, including interferential current therapy today - This is an effective therapy option used by many physiotherapy clinics to relieve pain and accelerate the self-healing process, getting your body back to a healthy, pain free state. The high frequency signals of an IFC penetrate through the skin into deeper lying muscle tissues. Lots of heat bags put on the quads and knees at the same time.
3 days before my test deep tissue massage, shoulder, neck and quads, calves.... This 3 weeks of shit better work....
2 days before test: Chiropractic adjustments,
The day before: tape up both legs and knees.

It's official - date revealed for Black Belt test
During the Christmas holidays, Sir has let Nora and I know that March 11th, will be the day that we do our black belt test.
I have to say that I'm excited, but at the same time scared shitless. I don't know if my knee, shoulder or neck is going to be able to handle all that is required for this long physical test. Mentally I think I"m ready, although if I screw up something, I'll be pissed at myself, which is not good... but the training that I have to do now till then, I just pray that - I take my time, and not over exert myself, but train harder than I have trained before, and eat better to loos more weight.

Oct 1, 2016 Sparks TKD Tournament of Champions -
To end my colour belt tournament "career", and to ensure I have 10 tournaments under my belt, (to get my blackbelt) I participated in my last tournament Saturday.
I have been so busy and occupied with my daughters stag, that my training has taken the "back burner" to an extent. On top of major blisters on the bottom of my feet from high heels at the stag, I was not able to practice too much last week Without ripping them open more. I was really nervous today. I really wanted to do well.
I was divided into 2 different divisions. One with my belt level for patterns, and the other with 4 women my age of different belt levels, but close to mine. Had an awesome time sparring with really fun and awesome women
At the end of the day - I'll take a gold medal with a side of another one pls.

Gup #1 - Black stripe to Black Stripe II
Last posting this, but I received my double black stripe on September 10th, 2016. don't know when my Black belt test will happen, but I assume in 6 months time... maybe... I have to work harder now... and I'm afraid, I'm going to burn out with Brianna's wedding coming full on in 2 months.

9 down. 1 more to go. Saturday June 25th I participated in the Can/am taekwondo Tournament. HOLY SHIT! What an experience.

Some things. What was advertised as a no contact/ light contact but nothing but near full out even for the little ones. OMG!!! I felt so awful for the little ones. 18+women's red belt division. ??? Seriously??? What happened to the geriatric division? Hahaha
This tournament was "sudden death" and not by point system.
Some details...The venu was small for the amount of participants. Schools across Canada as far as Newfoundland and the states. Delaware. Hamilton Oakville and someone from Scotland. Our school had the largest amount of participants from Canada. Yeah!!!!! Delaware being largest from states.
The worse: Absolute No air conditioning, turned off as of the night before. It's 32 outside. HOT and hotter inside this school. I was sweating before our division started. 900 start. My division didn't start till about 230. Soaked!
My division...First up. Patterns. Pyramid power. Our patterns were not marked or done as individuals. They were done by getting 2 competitors side by side at the same time. Judges pick. It was split but I lost and received Bronze. now sparring . First match with 25 year old. I won unanimously then Back to back with a 21 year old. Silver in a split decision sparring FULL CONTACT. My face has a bruise on one side, my foot has a huge bruise along all my toes. My right arm is pretty sore. But I'm alive . Can't wait to hear how the other competitors did on Tuesday night.
One down, one more to go... silver or gold.
